Giving PEACE a Voice

Well, we Made it!! We managed to march in the Riverton, NJ, 4th of July parade with Peace as our theme. We had a little white convertible, our "peacemobile," decorated with Peace, and Peace is Patriotic themes, we had world peace balloons, a few beautiful hand painted signs, and everyone wore their DOP tshirts. " Give Peace a Chance" and the Black-Eyed Peas song, "Where is the love," was the background music.
We were uncertain as to what the crowd's reaction would be, for a variety of reasons..... But, PEACE won the crowd over.
People clapped, flashed the Peace sign, and cheered.
Not all of the people, of course, but a lot of them. I feel like today was a success, even if we could not distribute literature on the DOP, because we distributed a voice, instead.
A voice for PEACE. We were an opportunity for people to publicly acknowledge, in their community, that they want peace. And to recognize that others do, also. That being anti-war does not mean being, as a lone voice in the crowd threw out today, a "traitor."
PEACE is now on the table in America. And GWB needs to step up to the plate, or leave the room. Quickly. Middle America is mobilizing.
I had faith that we would.
