Cindy Sheehan is a brave person. I think it is a trite satement to say that it is devastating to lose a child.
I heard over and over again, about every 15 minutes, on NPR radio the statements below that George Bush made about the recent slaughter of US soldiers in Iraq. It was like some freaking mantra that kept spitting from the radio. I haven't kept up with the Republicanization of NPR, but after Thursday, I didn't need to to. And I see that I am not the only one who viewed the words of the GWB as offensive, heartless, blathering. Better he should have said nothing about the deaths caused due to his actions.
from Democracy:

Below is an important message from Cindy Sheehan, a fearless champion for peace who lost her son Casey in combat in Iraq last year. I urge you to sign our petition so Cindy can deliver your signature to George Bush on Saturday.

Dear Friends and Supporters,
George Bush said speaking about the dreadful loss of life in Iraq in August: (08/03/05): "We have to honor the sacrifices of the fallen by completing the mission." "The families of the fallen can be assured that they died for a noble cause."
In reaction to these two assinine and hurtful statements, members of Gold Star Families for Peace (
GSFP) are going to George's vacation home in Crawford, Tx this Saturday, August 6th at 11:00 am to confront him on these two statements.

1) We want our loved ones' sacrifices to be honored by bringing our nation's sons and daughters home from the travesty that is Iraq IMMEDIATELY, since this war is based on horrendous lies and deceptions. Just because our children are dead, why would we want any more families to suffer the same pain and devastation that we are?
2) We would like for him to explain this "noble cause" to us and ask him why Jenna and Barbara are not in harm's way, if the cause is so noble.
3) If George is not ready to send the twins, then he should bring our troops home immediately. We will demand a speedy withdrawal.
GSFP will be joined by members of Veteran's for Peace (VFP), Military Families Speak Out (MFSO), Iraq Veterans Against the War (IVAW), Code Pink, and Crawford Peace House.
We GSFP members will not leave until we get answers from George Bush. We deserve and expect him to welcome us with answers to as why our loved ones are dead.
Every worker for peace, every worker for justice, every person who wants our country back are welcomed to join us on Saturday. Show George Bush that we mean business. Be there to support us family members who have already been through so much. We are fighting for our country, our world, especially the children.
Crawford is about 2 hours from Dallas where the VFP Convention is being held this weekend. There will be car pools from the convention.
Bring water and hats...we plan on staying until we are arrested or satisfied with the answers. (I am betting on jail).
Please pass this email on to your friends, lists, and media.

Help us collect 1 million signatures to tell George Bush it's time to get
Out Of Iraq.
Thanks to the
Downing Street Memos, we now know George Bush's invasion of Iraq in 2003 was based entirely on lies. Iraq had no stockpiles of WMD's or Al Qaeda ties, and Bush knew it. And Bush had no plans to rebuild Iraq after his invasion.
Two years later, Iraq is a bloody quagmire:
U.S. soldier deaths are nearing 2,000, over 13,000 have been maimed, and 30% of returning combat troops have serious mental health problems
At least
24,685 Iraqi civilians have been killed, possibly over 100,000
U.S. taxpayers have been burdened with $200 billion more in debt
Torture approved by the White House has made the world hate us
The war has
tripled global terrorism, not reduced it
Military retention and recruitment are down, making America weaker
Because of these huge costs, the
American people now oppose the war by 59%-39%. But George Bush stubbornly refuses to discuss a timetable for withdrawal - ignoring a request by 103 Iraqi Members of Parliament!
On Thanksgiving Day 2003, Bush snuck into Iraq to deliver a fake turkey to our troops. On Thanksgiving Day 2005, Bush should end his "turkey" of a war by starting to bring our troops home.
Help us collect 1 million signatures to tell George Bush it's time to get
Out Of Iraq.

Cindy Sheehan is not a brave person, she is a hypocrite and a liar - the two things she accuses George Bush of being. She grossly pimps her dead son's name to fuel failed political rhetoric - basically, the same thing she accuses George Bush of doing when he says soliders have died for a cause.

Because of her big mouth, she has already left a trail of venom for the better part of a year. She's part of a group that hooked up with's failed attempt to buy the presidency for John Kerry. Accepting defeat is tough, but a part of life. She should learn to deal with it like an adult.

Basically, Cindy Sheehan runs around and spews the same worthless leftist mantras that failed Democrats during the 2004 elections. And, as mentioned before, she uses her dead son as an excuse to keep spewing them. Pathetic. She truly needs psychiatric help.

In prior interviews easily found on the web, she admits that her son re-enlisted in the Army knowing full well his unit would be sent to Iraq. He knew what was going on over there, so he wasn't "lied to" as she has been blathering on and on about for well over a year.

In truth, he probably re-enlisted because he figured the idea of facing down terrorists in Iraq was better than listening to his nagging, leftist mom at home. It is obvious that her ridiculously thin world view didn't jibe with him. For that, I salute the boy for having brains.

Also, Sheehan has already met with Bush once. But, because he doesn't agree with her assumptions about the war, she's mad. Newsflash, Cindy: life doesn't guarantee that everyone will agree with you 100% of the time. Sadly, at her age, you'd think she'd have learned to deal with disagreement.

Everything Sheehan whines about today is re-hashed, left-wing bilge that has never been proven, and won't be proven (Downing Street Memos, pre-presidential interviews taken out of context, etc., etc.) because it's untrue or half-baked by left wing hacks. You'd have better luck proving that pigs fly. Her little group of sad, misguided hippies is on the most Quixotic journey since the last Ralph Nader presidential run.

What Cindy Sheehan needs is not a dicussion with George Bush, but a discussion with a shrink to help her sort out her own anger, loss issues, and paranoid delusions.

The bottom line is this - George W. Bush whipped John Kerry, and all of Cindy Sheehan's whining (and pimping her son's name to justify it) won't change it.

And that's the rest of the story. Good day!

A Voice of Reason sounds like someone who has no empathy for a bereaved parent who refuses to let her son die in vain. Personal attacks on the parents of our war dead isn't a very patriotic thing to do. Go troll elsewhere.

Even more certain than death and taxes is the unleashing of the right wing extremist dogs of war against any patriot who dares speak the truth to the president and his group of elite rear echelon non-combatants. They have proven time and again that when the truth hurts, kill the messenger. And so goes “the voice of reason.” -r-
