Stop the Damn Oil Companies from destroying our lives, and theirs!!

in my mailbox..
Dear Medbh,
It’s been a great week for Big Oil and their lobbyists and allies in Congress.
But that could mean bad news for our Arctic Wildlife.

As ExxonMobil was preparing today's announcement of nearly $10 billion in record-breaking profits, Representative Richard Pombo (R-CA) and his House Resources Committee yesterday passed a Budget Reconciliation Bill that would legalize drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.

Unfortunately, Big Oil’s gains will come at the expense of America's wildlife. Drilling in the Arctic Wildlife Refuge would destroy millions of acres of pristine habitat and threaten polar bears, caribou, millions of migratory birds and the Refuge’s other treasured creatures. Take action now to save this spectacular place.

We have only a few days left to save this special place and the animals that live there. The Senate is scheduled to vote NEXT WEEK, with a full House vote scheduled the week after.

Please send a message now to your Senators to stop drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.
The vote to save the Arctic Refuge will be close. With the help of "friends" like Representative Pombo, Big Oil and its allies in Congress have already managed to grease through legislation to weaken controls on pollution and pave the way for building refineries in some of America’s last great remaining wild places.

Now they want to industrialize our Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.
Don’t let them do it. Please send a message to your Senators right now to help save this national treasure and the special animals that live there.

Big Oil is knocking on the door. But, with your help, we’ll keep them out of America’s greatest wildlife sanctuary.
