The medbh blog has been sleeping lately. Her author has been so busy actively working for PEACE, that writing has been something accomplished only in dreamtime.

sooo, medbh may give up the ghostess, but may be resurrected in another form, sometime in 2006.

In the meantime, here is a vid -- http://cbs5.com/30minutes/local_story_350231908.html
about the Department of PEACE campaign, which medbh actively supports. If you, as the Congressman from Arizona in the vid does, think that establishing a Federal level Department of Peace in our American government, is just a naive idiocy.....

Well, then, think of this---at one point in our human history, slavery was accepted and commonplace. Who argued against this, and who continues to advocate for PEACE and non violent methods to resolve international and national conflicts??--the Quakers.

At one point in our human history, decapitation via a guillontine was accepted and commonplace.
At one point on our human history, cutting off a male child's testicles was accepted and commonplace. Hey--the Church needed sopranos for their magnificent choirs.........

At one point in our history, breaking a human's bones on a "rack" was an accepted form of torture...by a CHURCH.

At one point in our history, tying someone to a wood pole and then burning them alive was an accepted form of punishment---by a CHURCH.

well, the list of inhuman atrocities visited on our human bodies by governments and churches is endless.

You get the pic. Let's take our present society to a higher level. PLEASE.

Tell your Congressperson and your Senator that you want the American government to take the lead in sponsoring a Department of Peace and Non-Violence, HERE.
and, some notable blogpoints you should review--HERE and HERE

PEACE to you, and Peace out,
medbh

Friday, December 16, 2005

medbh has been very busy these past few weeks, actively working for PEACE, in addition to holding down the full time job, like so many other Americans, who have lots of diverse responsibilities.
I have been thinking lately, that I should probably dissolve this blog, as I truly do not like doing anything "halfway." I feel like I have not done justice to the blog for almost a month.

then, a friend sent something my way.

and, I decided that, as long as there are people dying and being maimed for corporate oil, well, I guess I could at the very least, keep putting out into the blogosphere, reasons to fight to end this horrendous war.

so, WHAT DOES 2,000 Look Like? LIKE THIS

do what you can to end this war, and to bring PEACE.

The Shoot First Law is in New Jersey??????

I've haven't posted for almost two weeks now, as I have been like so many people, busy. But, this morning, due to the snow storm, or rather, snow little hissy fit, I am going into work a bit late.

I was trying to machete my way through a jungle of unopened emails, when this one popped out.

Crap. Can't be. Doesn't this type of mentality only rule down in the land of the drawls? This is freaking NJ, and just because we shelter the most dangerous city in the nation, Camden, doesn't mean we would want this Shoot First, Ask Questions Later law up here, right??

I mean, can you imagine how that kind of law would play out here? In Camden, in Newark?

Send it Packing!! Tell Gov. Cody NJ the Garden State doesn't need to become the Graveyard State!!
Here's the dish from the people trying to stop the Insanity:

In October, Florida became a very dangerous place, and if the National Rifle Association (NRA) gets its way, New Jersey will be next.

On October 1, the Shoot First Law went into effect in Florida, giving the people of Florida permission to use deadly force as a first resort, even in a public place. The law grants sweeping criminal and civil immunity to anyone who pulls the trigger when they feel 'threatened' -- and specifically denies legal recourse to innocent bystanders killed or wounded in the crossfire, even if the shooter acted negligently.
Click here to tell Governor Codey that "Shoot First" is a horrible policy idea for New Jersey.

But the Shoot First doctrine isn't just staying in Florida -- the NRA has made no bones about the fact that it plans to export Shoot First legislation to all 50 states in 2006. This is about to become a national disgrace, and will take us back to the days of the Wild West -- unless you get involved.

Our partners at the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence have put together an easy way for you to tell your Governor to "Keep Shoot First out of our state" -- and we encourage you to click the link below to get this important message to Governor Codey.

Click here to take action with the Brady Campaign and keep "Shoot First" from becoming law in New Jersey.
Thanks in advance for taking a proactive stand to stop the spread of this dangerous legislation. Together, we can make sure this law doesn't come to New Jersey next.
Please forward this newsletter to your friends, email lists, and bloggers you know to help spread the word about this important campaign!
Thank you for working to build a better world.

Some Sunday Food For Thought during our American excess season

buy it, buy it, buy it, eat it, eat it, eat it.

I've been sleepwalking through the "holiday" season for several years now. well, more than several years. obligatory buying puts me off, as it does to most of us. "please don't buy me anything, spend that moolah on someone who needs it," is a common refrain from those of us who are just over satiated to the point of puking, with today's commercialism.

aside from personal ways though, to balance the excess with something more meaningful, I have been too dimwitted to think of a better way.

these people, though, have quite definitely thought of a different, and better way. a problem, at least for me, is feeling a bit pukish just thinking of the redesigned "dumpster diving" food fest.

all about the freegans..

Send Congessman Murtha a pink rose of thanks

Join CODEPINK in giving Thanks, this Thanksgiving:

"This Thanksgiving, whether you are enjoying the company of family and friends, joining us in New Orleans to help rebuild that devastated city, or sojourning to Crawford, Texas to accompany Cindy Sheehan, we want to thank you for your continued support for CODEPINK and your determination to end this unjust war in Iraq.

Let us also take a moment, collectively, to thank a newcomer to our peace movement: Congressman John Murtha (D-PA). Last week, Congressman Murtha, a decorated veteran with 37 years in the Marine Corps, touched off a firestorm in Congress with his courageous call to end the occupation of Iraq.

While Vice President Cheney attacks Cong. Murtha, Republican Congresspeople call him a traitor, and even Democrats like Cong. Nancy Pelosi distance themselves from his position, CODEPINK wants to send the Congressman a heart-felt gesture of appreciation by showering him with pink roses on his next visit to Walter Reed Hospital -- unlike his critics, he visits the soldiers weekly. He can then deliver the roses to the wounded soldiers, brightening both his and their day.
Just click here to make a $3 donation to the bouquet.

You can also support Congressman Murtha by asking your congressperson to support his resolution (
House Joint Resolution 73), which calls for US forces in Iraq "to be redeployed at the earliest practicable date" and says the US should "pursue security and stability in Iraq through diplomacy."

Urge your Representatives to cosponsor Murtha's bill and two other excellent bills against the war:
H.R. 4232 (by Congressman Jim McGovern) to cut off funding for an ongoing occupation and H. CON. RES. 197 (by Congresswoman Barbara Lee) to block permanent military bases in Iraq.

With members of Congress are home for the holidays, we encourage you to take advantage of the opportunity to visit them in their district offices, or question them about the war in Iraq at public events in the district. For updated lobbying materials and talking points, see the
United for Peace and Justice website.

The events surrounding Murtha's resolution pushed the Democratic Caucus to call a special meeting on December 5 to discuss a position on Iraq. Next week is a perfect time to call on Democratic Representatives to take a strong position on an immediate, safe and orderly withdrawal.
We have much to mourn and celebrate this Thanksgiving, but most of all we have much work before us. Congressman Murtha has opened up a new level of debate in Congress. Let us seize the moment and build the momentum!

Keep supporting Rep. Murtha

from AFSC:
Yesterday, Representative John Murtha made a highly publicized call for a change in direction in Iraq policy. Representative Murtha is a Vietnam combat veteran, the ranking Democrat on the House Defense Appropriations Subcommittee, and someone whose opinion is valued by the Defense community and military families.

The White House said it was “baffled” by Rep. Murtha’s call for a U.S. withdrawal from Iraq within six months. Let Congress know that there is nothing baffling about Rep. Murtha’s stand.
Follow the link below to let Congress know that you are heartened by Representative Murtha’s call for a change in direction in Iraq.

http://support.afsc.org/site/Advocacy?pagename=homepage&page=UserAction&id=124
Representative Murtha showed real leadership, including owning his accountability for sending Americans to war. In his speech, he said:
Iraq cannot be won “militarily.” I said two years ago, the key to progress in Iraq is to Iraqitize, Internationalize and Energize. I believe the same today. But I have concluded that the presence of U.S. troops in Iraq is impeding this progress.

Because we in Congress are charged with sending our sons and daughters into battle, it is our responsibility, our obligation to speaking out for them. That's why I am speaking out.
Our military has done everything that has been asked of them, the U.S. can not accomplish anything further in Iraq militarily. It is time to bring them home.

This is an important statement from an influential member of Congress. The Administration and the Republican leadership reacted immediately trying to pigeon-hole Representative Murtha’s position as “fringe.”

Please email your Senators and Representative to let them know that you’re not baffled by John Murtha, but rather that you are pleased to see such a show of leadership.

The Robin Hood in Reverse Bill--How could they approve a cut in taxes for the wealthy and leave everyone else to pick up that tab?

from:
Tracey Conaty
Emergency Campaign for America’s Priorities

They had a choice to make, and they chose to leave America’s families behind.
Late last night, under cover of darkness, the Republican-led House revealed its contempt for working families by passing $50 billion in cuts to vital public services—for the sole purpose of funding $70 billion in additional tax breaks for the wealthy.

Click here to download the "wanted" poster featuring Republican "Robin Hoods in Reverse"
But the fight is not over. The GOP leadership managed to win this vote by cutting deals they can’t possibly keep and putting off the day of reckoning. When they return in a few weeks, the House and Senate will need to reach agreement on a final budget.

It’s not over yet—we’ll keep up the pressure over the next few weeks to get them to do the right thing for America’s families. We will not stand for the immoral agenda of stealing from the poor and middle class to give tax breaks to the wealthy.

The poster above is of the moderate Republicans who caved in to their leadership and voted against the interests or working people.

Post it at work, pass it out to your colleagues or forward it to your friends—let people see what these “Robin Hoods in Reverse” look like. --I see at least two of the bunch are local NJ congressmen, Jim Saxton and Frank LoBiondo--tell them what you think of their vote!!

Our military has done everything that has been asked of them. It is time to bring them home."JOHN P. MURTHA,

Our military has done everything that has been asked of them. It is time to bring them home."JOHN P. MURTHA, a Democratic representative from Pennsylvania.

"""Our troops have become the primary target of the insurgency," Rep. John Murtha (news, bio, voting record) said Thursday. "They are united against U.S. forces and we have become a catalyst for violence. The war in Iraq is not going as advertised. It is a flawed policy wrapped in illusion."

As a Vietnam veteran and top Democrat on the House Appropriations defense subcommittee with close ties to many military officers, the 30-year Pennsylvania lawmaker carries more credibility with his colleagues on the issue than a number of other Democrats who have opposed the war from the start.

"Our military has accomplished its mission and done its duty," Murtha told reporters at news conference with a half-dozen American flags arrayed behind him.
"It's time to bring them home," he said.*****

from the PEN:
WE'RE ON A ROLL. NOW WE STAND UP AGAINST THE PATRIOT ACT
Today's vote in the House, resoundingly rejecting the administration's cruel budget cuts for the poor to finance more tax cuts for the rich, was no surprise to the more than 6,000 participants of our system who submitted their personal objections to their members of Congress.
And now there are also more voices in the Senate demanding that we pull in the reins on the out of control fascist aspects of propaganda named Patriot Act. The administration's FBI plants are actually fighting for language to authorize "UNNECESSARY" intrusive searches.ACTION PAGE: http://www.millionphonemarch.com/patriot.htm

Republicans Craig, Sununu and Murkowski, and Democrats Durbin, Feingold and Salazar are to be credited for being outraged that even the very modest restraints against abuse of government power in the bill were cut out by the conference committee. We need to send them our messages of support on this, and tell the rest of our senators who are not on board to start fighting for we the people for a change.

THIS IS YET ANOTHER REASON TO OPPOSE ALITO FOR SUPREME COURT
Of course, regardless of what abuses of presidential power the Congress might rubberstamp were we NOT to speak out, you can be sure that Bush's latest designated player, Supreme Court nominee Alito, would wave it through.

His paper trail is not nearly as well hidden as was Roberts, and the more we learn, the more we understand that he is nothing but a reactionary with a committed lifelong agenda. Please not only demand his rejection, but that ANY replacement for Sandra Day O'Connor be no worse than a true moderate centrist

Thanks to our advocacy and all of your hard work, last week's House vote was cancelled but is now being brought up again. The votes will be very close and we need to keep the pressure on in order to save these important human needs programs.

See below for more information.
Phone script:(Ask for the staff person who handles budget issues.) Please ask Representative __________ to stick up for [your state's] struggling families. Now is not the time to cut food stamps, Medicaid, student loans, school lunches, and foster care just to name a few.

I am horrified that the bill will require co-payments for children and pregnant women for the first time, despite evidence that higher costs for medical care cause low-income families with children to go without needed care. (Add a story from your state that makes your point.)
Thank you for making these phone calls.

Even if the person is not your own representative, you are most certainly a constituent of his/her state.
Background from last week's action alert:
On November 3, the Senate passed
its version of the budget reconciliation bill by a vote of 52 to 47.
The House is currently debating its own budget bill, which includes $54 billion in cuts. On the table are cuts of $9.5 billion in Medicaid, a total of $30 billion over ten years, achieved by requiring co-pays for children and pregnant women for the first time, despite evidence that higher costs cause low-income families with children to go without needed care. States will also be allowed to restrict benefits.
More info...
Also included are cuts of $8 billion in foster care, child support enforcement and aid to the disabled. Specifically, it would cut $730 million over 5 years from aid to poor seniors and to people with disabilities that prevent them from working. They would be forced to wait longer to become eligible for SSI and then forced to wait longer for the benefits that are owed to them. More info...
In addition, cuts of $844 million in the Food Stamps Program would prevent 300,000 people from receiving food stamps. Forty thousand children would no longer be able to receive reduced-price school lunches.

Lawmakers intend to follow these program cuts with another tax cut — $70 billion in tax cuts that will primarily benefit the top 3% of taxpayers. The message from Congress is that in response to Hurricane Katrina, they're going to cut services for the poor, cut taxes for the rich, and increase deficits for our children and grandchildren.

The vote will be close because our concerns have resonated BUT we must continue the pressure. They said it best in a Washington Post editorial today: "This is the moment for thoughtful Republicans in both chambers to draw a line."

Call Representatives from your state today demanding that they not cut aid to the poor, elderly, disabled, uninsured, hungry and homeless

Document Says Oil Chiefs Met With Cheney Task Force
By Dana Milbank and Justin BlumWashington Post Staff WritersWednesday, November 16, 2005; Page A01
A White House document shows that executives from big oil companies met with Vice President Cheney's energy task force in 2001 -- something long suspected by environmentalists but denied as recently as last week by industry officials testifying before Congress.

The document, obtained this week by The Washington Post, shows that officials from Exxon Mobil Corp., Conoco (before its merger with Phillips), Shell Oil Co. and BP America Inc. met in the White House complex with the Cheney aides who were developing a national energy policy, parts of which became law and parts of which are still being debated...........

A few short weeks ago, I took part in a vigil that marked the death of the 2000 th soldier killed in this war.

Over 60 more have died in the few short weeks since then.

2,060 American lives brutally lost, hundreds of Iraqi lives lost; so that George Bush and his base can gain a monopoly on Iraqi oil, so that oil companies can post massive profits, so that Halliburton and it's subsidiaries can rake in outrageously high profits, all paid for by our dollar.

Can we claim to be humans if we watch this unfold day after day and do nothing?
I guess so. We would be the same type of humans who gathered at lynchings, who watched human flesh burn at a stake on a church's order's, who debowled political prisoners, who gassed to death millions of people of the "wrong" faith at that point in time, who cut out the hearts, and cut off the scalps of other humans.....

what, you thought we were past this? we had evolved? civilized people didn't do this type of thing?

one year ago, in addition to everything else that was used to "cleanse" the city of Fallujah of insurgents, a killer named white phosphorous was also used. It melts human bodies. read about it here and then tell our government of reincarnated Inquisition torturers and similar ilk, that you want them to end this war, now, by going here

"ICONOCLAST: I had one of our correspondents send me a series of photographs of the Al-Asad dust storm in Iraq on April 28.

MORET: That dust is what I’m talking about.

ICONOCLAST: In the picture you can see a gigantic wall of sand.

MORET: I have 16 pictures of that storm. They’re posted with photos from Iraqi doctors of the children of people with cancer and leukemia. So what did you think of that dust storm?

ICONOCLAST: I thought it was really dramatic.

MORET: It remobilizes all the radiation, but those are the larger chunks. The DU burns at such high temperatures. It’s a pyroforic metal which means it burns. The bullets and big caliber shells are actually on fire when they come out of the gun barrel because they are ignited by the friction in the gun barrel. Seventy percent of the DU metal becomes a metal vapor. It’s actually a radioactive gas weapon and a terrain contaminant.

I’ll email you the URL of the 1943 memo to General Leslie Grove under the Manhattan Project. It’s the blueprint for depleted uranium. They dropped the atomic bombs, but they did not use the DU weapons because they thought they were too horrific.

I’ve toured and gone all over Japan with a pediatrician in Basra and an oncologist, a cancer specialist. These poor doctors — their whole families are dying of cancer. He has 10 members of his family with cancer now that he’s treating, and this is just from Gulf War I. They’ve used much, much, much more in 2003. All over the whole country.

ICONOCLAST: What can soldiers expect when they come home?

MORET: If they were in Bradley Fighting Vehicles, they’re coming home with rectal cancer from sitting on ammunition boxes. The young women are reporting terrible problems with endometriosis. That’s the lining of the uterus malfunctioning, and they just bleed and bleed and bleed.
Some of them have uterine cancer — 18 and 19 and 20 year olds. The Army will not even diagnose it. They send them back to the battlefields. They won’t treat them or diagnose them. A group of 20 soldiers pushed from Kuwait to Baghdad in 2003 in all the fighting. Eight of those 20 soldiers have malignancies.

ICONOCLAST: Does exposure to depleted uranium effect their psychological background when they come home?

MORET: Depleted uranium are these particles that form at very high temperatures. They are uranium oxides that are insoluble. They are at least 100 times smaller than a white blood cell, so when the soldiers breathe, they inhale them. The particles go through the nose, go through the olfactory and into the brain, and it messes up their cognitive abilities, thought processes.

It damages their mood-control mechanism in the brain. Four soldiers at Fort Bragg came back from Afghanistan, and within two months, those four had murdered their wives. This is part of the damage to the brain from the radiation and the particles.

With gas prices topping $3.00 a gallon earlier this fall and a war raging in the Middle East, you'd think that our government has plenty of reasons to start taking serious steps to improve the fuel economy of our nation’s automobiles.

But just weeks after the gasoline price hikes associated with Hurricane Katrina, President Bush’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) proposed changes to federal fuel economy standards that would likely increase our dependence on foreign oil, not reduce it.

Take action! Shockingly, the NHTSA’s proposal would continue to exempt large gas-guzzlers like the Hummer H2 from compliance with fuel efficiency standards. This loophole would continue to give a free pollution pass to the biggest offenders on the road and undermine efforts to improve America’s fuel economy.

Americans can’t afford to wait any longer for better fuel economy. It’s time to give the auto industry incentives to produce vehicles that are more energy efficient, not less!

This is your chance to tell the government that you want standards that bring us better vehicle choices, not more gas-guzzling models that take advantage of regulatory loopholes. NHTSA will be accepting public comments only until November 21st, so please send your email message today!

This Veterans Day, it’s a Crying Shame.
If you see today, Veterans Day, as a day to honor fallen soldiers then you have over 2500 more soldiers to honor than you did last Veterans Day.

This so called War on Terror has taken a lot of our Americans down and it is indeed a crying shame. What did they die for? It wasn’t for our freedom, that’s just a flat out lie. Iraq and Afghanistan were never threatening the freedom of the United States. Both are countries where some bad people lived but our freedom was never their aim. So if these soldiers didn’t die for our freedom, what did they die for?

They died because they thought when they volunteered to serve their country that they could trust the president of their country to value their lives enough to only put them in harm’s way when it was necessary to protect their country from harm. That wasn’t the way it worked. Sadly they were soldiers during a time when the United States went insane and they paid the ultimate price for that insanity.

Did they die in vain? No, they died because someone lied to them. The one person who could have saved their lives lied to them. Their lives were taken from them because of someone’s desire, not someone’s best judgment.

It’s also sad that man has not discovered some way to settle international disputes without killing people. My wish would be that we have no additional fallen soldiers to honor on future Veterans Days. My hope is that we will have future leaders of this country who, if they say that war is the last resort, honestly mean it with all sincerity and that pledge comes from the bottom of their heart.

My fear is that there will be at least one more dead soldier to honor before this day is done.

Friday Funny 2.....

thanks to Daphne, again!!!

George Bush, Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld are flying on Air Force One.

The President looks at the Vice President, chuckles, and says, "You know, I could throw a $1,000 bill out the window right now and make somebody very happy."

The Vice President shrugs and says, "Well, I could throw ten $100 bills out the window and make ten people very happy."

Not to be outdone, the Secretary of Defense says, "Of course, then, I could throw 100 $10 bills out the window and make a hundred people very happy."

The pilot rolls his eyes and says to his co-pilot, "Such arrogant asses back there.

Hell, I could throw the three of them out of the window and make 56 million people REALLY happy."

Friday Funny

thanks to Daphne........

NAVAJO MESSAGE FOR THE MOON:
When NASA was preparing for the Apollo Project, it took the astronauts to a Navajo reservation in Arizona for training. One day, a Navajo elder and his son came across the space crew walking among the rocks. The elder, who spoke only Navajo, asked a question.

His son translated for the NASA people: "What are these guys in the big suits doing?"

One of the astronauts said that they were practicing a trip to the moon. When his son relayed this comment the Navajo elder got all excited and asked if it would be possible to give to the astronauts a message to deliver to the moon. Recognizing a promotional opportunity when he saw one, a NASA official accompanying the astronauts said, "Why certainly!" and told an underling to get a tape recorder.

The Navajo elder's comments into the microphone were brief. The NASA official asked the son if he would translate what his father had said. The son listened to the recording and laughed uproariously. But he refused to translate.

So the NASA people took the tape to a nearby Navajo village and played it for other members of the tribe. They too laughed long and loudly but also refused to translate the elder's message to the moon.An official government translator was summoned.
After he finally stopped laughing the translator relayed the message:

"WATCH OUT FOR THESE ASSHOLES. THEY HAVE COME TO STEAL YOUR LAND."

Studies show that American children are falling behind children in other nations in their knowledge and understanding of science.

But instead of improving the quality of science education, movements across the country are trying to substitute ideology for fact in our classrooms. The freedom of religion and the quality of public education are being put to the test in Dover, Pennsylvania, where a landmark court case is shaping up, as schoolteachers rebel against being forced to teach creationism in their biology classrooms along with evolution.

At issue in Dover, PA, is a new policy requiring all ninth-grade biology teachers to read a statement on "Intelligent Design" before teaching evolution lessons. The district is believed to be the first in the country to require such a disclaimer. But the problem with this policy is that science is based on facts and testable predictions; religion is based on faith.

And unfortunately, "intelligent design" is no more than religious creationism dressed up with a new name. A quality science education teaches children to weigh evidence, think critically, and apply the scientific method to test theories. A study of "Intelligent design" does none of these things.

For the sake of our children and the competitiveness of our country, urge your state governor to defend the integrity of science education in our schools!

from TVnewslies:
TVNL Editor's Comments: From the day I created TvNewsLIES.org I have claimed that the truth behind both 9/11 and the invasion of Iraq can be found by investigating Dick Cheney's secret energy policy meetings.

Judicial Watch was successful in forcing Cheney, by way of lawsuit, to disclose the fact that maps of Iraqi oil fields and energy infrastructure were included in the meeting documentation. The common sense question is this: How could Cheney include Iraq's oil resources as part of our energy policy if we had no diplomatic or business relationship with them?

Iraq was under sanctions. What business did Cheney have with Iraq's energy infrastructure? No dealings with Iraq were possible unless something drastic were to happen, like an invasion and occupation. How could he have anticipated such a change when only an event like 9/11 would have made that possible?

Why did Cheney's maps include the entire energy infrastructure? Could it be because his pals, the energy industry profiteers who attended the meeting had something to gain financially when it came time to rebuilding the Iraqi energy infrastructure after Cheney's military war profiteers destroyed it?

The invasion of Iraq was a jackpot for the war profiteers who destroyed Iraq and for the post war profiteers who rebuilt Iraq. And let's not forget about the oil companies who will now make money on oil that used to belong to the people of Iraq and has now been parceled out to the thieves by the conquerors of Iraq's resources. (You can scream all you want about how Saddam used his oil money for his palaces and for his personal use but he also provided, with that oil money, free health care, free education through college and an industrialized Iraq for his people!

Where does American oil money go? How's your medical coverage these days?) Again we submit clear evidence that Dick Cheney, a PNAC member, had motives for conducting, enabling or permitting the events of 9/11 to take place and he was in a position to carry it out. And by virtue of the facts that Iraq's resources were included in his planning it indicates that Dick Cheney was actually anticipating those events. Think about it! - Jesse, Editor, TvNewsLIES.org

When the world hears you say, "I am an American," what image will they associate those words with?

a Blondesense thought for today's world travelers who are also American citizens

Deep Pocket of Inhumanity
If you work for a large company and while at work you do something to harm a citizen, most likely you will be sued. And, if the lawyer for the harmed citizen chooses to do so, he or she may sue the company that you work for, because the company has the deep pockets.

The deep pocket meaning they have more money to sue for than you do. This is based on the theory that since you were an agent of the company at the time you harmed the citizen the ultimate responsibility for the harm goes to the company. Ladies and gentlemen we are ultimately responsible for the harm that has been done to this country.

Just like the large company, we didn’t actually take part in the harm, but we have the most to lose and the ultimate responsibility for the damages. We have the deep pockets and we will suffer when the verdict comes back on whether the US has tortured other human beings. From all the evidence we have seen so far, it doesn’t look good for us.

When we travel to foreign countries the citizens of those countries aren’t going to look at us and remember that Lynndie England dragged a detainee around with a dog leash. They’re going to remember that an American committed that obscene act. That’s our future.Even the idea of connecting the word “torture” with our country is a repulsive thought.

It shakes the senses and turns the stomach. Could there be a more horrid crime than treating human beings inhumanely and even causing death. It’s being done in our name.

I don't think I can read the rest of the emails. And, he's still on the payroll...

As other FEMA officials emailed Michael Brown, asking for help, and stating that the situation was beyond critical, Brown responded in ways that scream--"Let Them Eat Cake"....

Read the CNN report on Brown's emails, written while Katrina raged, people died, and lives were destroyed, and King George's court powdered their wigs....

repuglican luv is like no other..... or, why does Bush hate the middle class?

Bush Creates A New Disaster For Middle Class

Newsday: "Bush's advisory panel recommended reducing deductions for mortgage interest and eliminating those for state and local taxes, ideas that drew immediate condemnation among Republican and Democratic representatives from New York, one of the states that would be hardest hit.""This could be a disaster, certainly, for the people of Long Island," said Rep. Carolyn McCarthy (D-Mineola). "It's almost, like, recessionary.""

or--yes, but what was the horse wearing????

FEMA Director's self-assessment, as Katrina slammed ashore: "I am a fashion god."
03 Nov 2005 Rep. Charlie Melancon, whose district south of New Orleans was devastated by Hurricane Katrina, posted a sampling of e-mails written by Federal Emergency Management chief Michael Brown on his Web site on Wednesday.

On August 29, the day of the storm, Brown exchanged e-mails about his attire with Cindy Taylor, FEMA's deputy director of public affairs, Melancon said.

She told him, "You look fabulous," and Brown replied, "I got it at Nordstroms. ... Are you proud of me?"

An hour later, Brown added: "If you'll look at my lovely FEMA attire, you'll really vomit. I am a fashion god," according to the congressman. [Read these e-mails from the outrageously flippant Michael Brown.

Brown and the man who hired him should be tried for mass murder for this, among other crimes.
